For his efforts in leading the Tigers of Rochester Institute of Technology to their first NCAA Division I Men’s Championship Tournament appearance in school history, Wayne Wilson has been chosen winner of the 2010 Spencer Penrose Award as Division I Men’s Coach of the Year.

RIT Seniors End Careers with Loss to Wisconsin at Frozen Four
The RIT men’s hockey team (28-12-1) had its magical season ended by Wisconsin (28-10-4), 8-1 in front of record crowd of 34,954 fans at the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinal at Ford Field on Thursday evening. The loss snapped RIT’s program record 12-game winning streak.

DeMichiel, East Regional MOP, leads RIT to Detroit and the Frozen Four
Senior goalie, Jared DeMichiel, was named the East Regional Most Outstanding Player Saturday night after a 6-2 victory over New Hampshire in the East Regional Final. DeMichiel stopped 24 shots to lead the Tigers to their first-ever trip to the Frozen Four.

The RIT Tigers heard this morning where they will be going for the First Round of the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament after defeating Sacred Heart Saturday night, 6-1 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. The Tigers will face top-seeded Denver in the East Regional to be held at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y.
